The five countries of the Plaza Accord

Name the five countries that signed the Plaza Accord in 1985

Five countries agreed at the Plaza Hotel to push the dollar down

On Sunday 22 September 1985 the finance ministers and central bank governors of five countries, the Group of Five, met at the Plaza Hotel in New York. They announced that the dollar was too strong and that the other major currencies should rise against it, and their central banks then sold dollars to bring that about. The Plaza Accord is the standard example of governments acting together to move a floating exchange rate. The list is fixed: nothing that happens now can change who signed.

Name all five first. Then try the harder part: name the two outside Europe, then the three in Europe.
