Thirty countries make up the European Economic Area
The European Economic Area extends the EU’s single market, with free movement of goods, services, capital and people, to three countries outside the EU. The EEA Agreement came into force on 1 January 1994. As of 1 October 2026 the EEA has 30 members: the 27 EU members and three of the four members of the European Free Trade Association. Every country that has joined the EU since 1994 has joined the EEA as well, and the list shrank by one when a member left the EU in 2020.
Name them all first. Then split the 30 by how and when each came into the EEA.
