Ten economists shared the four economics prizes from 2022 to 2025
The prize for economics is formally the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, and it is usually announced in October. This list covers the four most recent awards, for 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, as recorded by the Nobel Prize's own website. Ten economists shared them: one year had a single laureate and each of the other three had three. The 2026 prize has not yet been announced, and when it is, this list moves on a year and 2022 drops off.
Name them all first.
A recent prize is evidence for the idea it rewarded
Link a prize to the topic it speaks to. The 2022 award was for research on banks and financial crises, the 2024 award for studies of how institutions form and shape prosperity, and the 2025 award for explaining innovation-driven growth. Give the laureate and the year alongside the idea.
