Ceteris Admissions
For students applying to read Economics at Cambridge, Oxford and other competitive universities, and the parents supporting them. Practise the kinds of question interviewers ask, from live maths to article discussions, learn the reasoning they look for, and see progress in a report sent to you.
An economics interview tests how a candidate thinks through a problem they have not seen before, out loud, while the interviewer pushes back. At Cambridge about half of it is maths done live. The pack trains every part: the maths, the article, the puzzle and the follow-up.
In thirteen sections, including graph sketching and calculus, article pre-reads, game theory, E&M management and the commonly asked classics. Filter to your course.
Every model answer is a short spoken interview: a hint taken, a mistake caught and fixed, and the moves tutors reward labelled where they happen.
Economic history, the major economists and debates, and first-year university theory: the reading interviewers expect applicants to discuss.
Tutors say they judge how a candidate thinks: whether they clarify the question, start simple, state assumptions, use hints, catch their own mistakes and reach a view they can defend. The pack teaches that as seven moves, and every one of the 150 model answers is a short spoken interview showing the moves at work, with a hint taken, a wrong turn caught and fixed, and a weak answer set beside the strong one.
Answer it out loud first, then open each part: what the tutor is looking for, the model answer as it would be spoken, and the weak and strong versions side by side.

Economics at Cambridge, Economics and Management, PPE and History and Economics at Oxford, and economics degrees at other universities that interview. The questions test economic reasoning, which every economics interview looks for.
Three come from a real Cambridge Economics interview. Twenty are the questions most often reported online, written in our own words with the twists interviewers use on candidates who have rehearsed them. The rest are new, because an interview tests how you handle a problem you have not seen.
After paying, the student is signed in straight away. The order confirmation email also carries a sign-in link. Use the student's email address at checkout if the student will be the one practising.
It opens with a question from the pack, a Cambridge-style maths problem followed by a discussion, or your own personal statement. It reads each typed answer and pushes back with follow-up questions, as an interviewer would. At the end it writes feedback: what went well, what to change, and what a stronger answer would have done, with a score out of 5 on five criteria.
Yes. Oxford interviews are held online and many Cambridge Colleges interview online too, so the preparation is the same wherever the student lives. LSE and UCL do not interview for economics; for those applications the Applicant reading helps with the personal statement. Prices are shown in pounds, US dollars, Singapore dollars or Hong Kong dollars, and you pay in the currency you choose.
Not at present. This pass covers the interview, applicant reading and, on the Applicant Pass, the full Ceteris library.
